SCOPE
FURNITURE SELECTION & STYLING
This project began with a simple, considered brief, to complete the furniture and styling in the open-plan kitchen, dining and living of a newly built family home. But as with all of Kellie’s interiors, it was essential to create a space that feels as good as it looks, and supports the rhythm of everyday life.
Designed for a young family, the approach was grounded in both function and flow. A curved sofa from Roxby Lane became a defining decision early on, softening the spatial layout while allowing the entire family to gather comfortably in one place. It’s these subtle decisions that shape how a home is experienced.
Materiality played an equally important role. Durable, commercially graded fabrics were selected across some key pieces, ensuring longevity without compromising on finish. An essential layer in homes designed to be lived in.
While furniture anchored the space, it was the addition of the hero artwork piece by Alisha Falconer that brought cohesion and clarity. This beautiful piece tied together colour, tone and texture in a way that elevated the entire home.
Customisation was woven throughout, the dining chairs from King to the ottoman from Granite Lane. These customisations are a reflection of what’s possible when design is approached with intention. It’s also a reminder that thoughtful interiors often sit just beyond the expected.
A favourite moment of Kellies, was when Karl saw the finished space (and the selections) for the first time. His genuine shock and overwhelming excitement at how well the space was completed, was the perfect way to celebrate a beautifully finished project!
