Four stylish ways to beat the chill this winter

As the weather gets cooler, we can’t deny that another winter in Perth is on the cards. While it is usually a mild one here on the West Coast, we still have an excuse to switch from our cool cottons to those warm woollen textures for the next few months!

Here’s our tips to ensure your home feels winter-welcoming throughout the cooler months ahead.

Throughout the winter months, the sun rises later and sets earlier, meaning natural lighting is often harder to come by. To combat this, ensure your living areas are well equipped with plenty of soft ambient and task lighting solutions, such as side and floor lamps, to make sure your home still has an inviting homely vibe.

Eye-catching Fireplaces

We all know one of the best places to gather in winter is around the fireplace due to the warmth and special ambiance they create. This winter consider ditching the electric gas heater for a traditional option and let your fireplace make a stylish statement with interesting screens that show off different patterns. Alternatively, enjoy the crisp winter air outdoors equipped with blankets and hot chocolate around a backyard fire pit. It’s a great way to enjoy winter nights comfortably!

Wooly Textures

It’s time to roll out your thick, soft floor rugs and ensure your lounge areas are well appointed with wool knit blankets, throws and comfortable cushions. These are best in warm hues to tie in with the wintery mood but be careful not to overdo it – sometimes all you need is one or two of these items to have the desired effect!

Tasteful Candles

Candles are a favorite due to their calming glow and festive element. Use subtle strings of light to wrap around indoor tree plants or tuck in a vase for interesting glimmer. Candle holders are always a great go-to accent, but this winter design trends look to the candlesticks themselves. Add color, mood and texture with these lovely light sources!
